The THRIVE Youth Coalition is a transformative initiative of the THRIVE Parenting Project, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to supporting parents, youth, and families across Kane County, Illinois.
In response to rising concerns around mental health challenges and substance use among youth, we recognized the urgent need for action. Families and communities cannot face these struggles alone.
That’s why THRIVE is building a youth-led movement rooted in prevention, empathy, and leadership. Through the THRIVE Youth Coalition, we are creating opportunities for young people to find purpose, strengthen resilience, and make a difference in their schools and communities.
Our Approach
At THRIVE, prevention is more than simply telling youth what not to do — it’s about empowering them with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to lead positive change. Our approach is built on three pillars:
- Prevention Through Education
We provide evidence-based programs in schools and communities that promote healthy decision-making and build resilience against mental health struggles, substance use, and risky behaviors. - Leadership & Mentorship
We’re thrilled to announce that the THRIVE Youth Coalition has been selected as one of four groups to join the 2025–2026 SPARK Mentor Program. Alongside Delta Drug Free Youth Coalitions, Waukonda HS Youth Advisory Board, and Mundelein HS HOPE Squad, our youth will gain mentorship, training, and leadership opportunities to create lasting change. - Building Empathy & Connection
In partnership with Roots of Empathy (Canada), we are introducing empathy training into schools to strengthen compassion and inclusion. We also host Snowball meetings, providing safe, peer-led spaces where teens can connect, be heard, and support each other.
